What Being an American Means To Me.

What being an American means to me is that I live in the United States and the whole country is run by a dumb President called Bush. I think as an American I live in a neighborhood that at night there are drunks outside and burglars that rob peoples houses. Being in America stinks because in September 11, 2001 there was a Terrorist attack in Manhattan at the World Trade Center. It was a plane that crashed into both of the buildings and the whole site collapsed into the ground filled with debris. Now America is turning into a trashy placed and now there are rapists out there in the streets, burglars, shootings everywhere, etc… I know that being an American means you could get Freedom of Speech but I want more then that. What an American means that my parents were not born here and that they Immigrated here from Nicaragua and even though that some people think that immigrants are Mexican they are not. It is all different kinds of people from around the world. That is what being an American means to me.

Why are YMCA’s a good place to be?

I think the YMCA is a good place to be because there are lots of events there. There are gymnasiums and pools. Its good to go to because at the gym you could workout, lift wieghts, run track. At the pool it is very refreshing, you could do water yoga, exercises, swim laps, compete in water Olympics, do high-knee ups, etc… There are also Computer Labs, Child Watch, a Wieght Room, Day Care, Basketball Court, a Teen Room, Womens and Mens Locker Rooms and Family Locker Rooms. All of that is in every YMCA in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island. Some people like to go but others just think it is a waste of time to go there and spend there money to pay for there Memberships. The YMCA is for EVERYBODY. I think that people should try one YMCA out to see if it works for them. If it does not they don’t have to go. Who would not want to go? The Staff are nice and are always there to help you with a problem if you have one. It is a fun place to be because they have various of different types of programs. They have a Sports Program, Leadership Program, etc… I think people should just try it out. The YMCA is a great place to be.
